This morning, as part of my strict reviewing regime of the Ninja Swirl, I ate ice cream for breakfast.
Kids made me breakfast for Father’s Day. It was delicious!
This week I discovered that even after about 30 years of not hearing - or even thinking about - the song I want your love by Transvision Vamp, I still remember all the lyrics.
But ask me what I had for dinner on Sunday, and I draw a complete blank.
I like the idea of meal planning and cooking ahead, but it took me all afternoon to cook some freezer McMuffins and I am completely shattered.
Multitasking effort for the day: making lunchbox snacks while testing the Ankarsrum mixer. Can confirm they taste pretty good.
The kids are with Nanna, so we had a date night tonight, a simple dinner at a nice Italian restaurant. Just as we finish eating the texts start arriving: “are you at the Italian restaurant without us?!?”
Kids were stalking us with Apple Find My. 🤣🤣
Had my busiest day in ages today. Highlight was definitely having an intimate meal cooked for me by Rodney Dunn, the founder of Australia’s best restaurant, the Agrarian Kitchen, to showcase a new AEG cooktop.
It was delicious.
Got to spend a lovely night down at Bundanoon for a Ninja Woodfire event. It was pretty impressive watching a professional chef use the Ninja Woodfire grill. …

Continue reading →This morning our lovely neighbours came over and invited us all to the Botanic Gardens for lunch. The kids and I rode our bikes in with them, and we enjoyed an afternoon of good food and great company.
It was just really nice to stop for a bit.
Last night we went out to dinner to celebrate the boy’s birthday. We ate a lot of meat. It was incredible.

We took the kids bowling. It has been a long time since any of us has been bowling. We were all pretty terrible, but it didn’t matter. We had fun.
We had Yum Cha for lunch and burgers for dinner. We played air hockey and pool and ate Churros for dessert.
It was just a really nice, fun day.
Looking forward to the kids going back to school next week, though.

Continue reading →One of the hardest things about being an adult is having to work out what to cook for dinner every night. Especially with 1 child with dietary requirements, another who is a bit fussy, and a wife who says she needs to eat more fish and vegetarian meals, which neither kid likes.
Yesterday I was feeling inspired and bought a nice roast lamb for tonight’s dinner. Today though, I have very little motivation to actually cook it up.
But I have kids to feed, so off to the kitchen I go.
