• I Am Iron Man

Finally saw Iron Man on Saturday afternoon. If you haven’t seen it already, get out to the movies as soon as you can to check it out – it’s fantastic. Robert Downey Jr is perfect as Tony Stark… I can’t wait for the sequel to launch in 2010… Lauren and I also picked up Wii Fit on Saturday… It’s great, although it does involve exercise, which is something my body isn’t quite used to. • I'm SO Excited!

Oh. My. God. It’s about time. Today, Vodafone announced that they’re launching the iPhone in Australia. While that may not mean much to most people, I almost peed my pants when I read that email, I can tell you. Even though there’s precious little information, the fact that it’s with Vodafone means I don’t have to sign up with a new carrier. Unless they keep their ridiculous data pricing the same, and I have to look at moving to 3. Continue reading →

  • A Weekend of Lobster, Lindt and Corned Beef

It was a pretty busy weekend, which started with dinner on Friday night with mum, Matt and Lauren and Aunty Sue and Uncle Curl. We went down to the Italian restaurant near mum’s place – she had a hankering for lobster after I sent her the picture to the left there. The food was lovely, although the service was a little slow. I didn’t have the lobster myself (instead had veal with king prawns in a garlic and chilli sauce), it didn’t live up to the expectations mum had. Continue reading →

  • What a pile of crap!

Look at this dog. Does this look like the kind of dog that would greet you in the morning with pile of poo and a puddle of wee? Because that’s what the little bugger did to me this morning. Not that he’s in trouble – I gave him a bone yesterday for the first time in a while, and the dog food he’s been eating for the past month or so has made him a poop-machine, so it isn’t really his fault. • The house is clean

What an exciting weekend. Lauren and I cleaned. Really cleaned. The house has been neglected for so long, what with the wedding and everything, that there was a stench permeating the very pores of the walls. Now, that’s gone, (hence Mr Sparkle above). I mean, you know your house hasn’t been cleaned properly when you’re sitting down watching Pirates of the Caribbean on a Friday night and you watch a mouse run across the hallway floor. • Well, So much for daily...

I discovered last week that although I “blog” for a living these days, trying to find something interesting every day in my own life was a struggle. There’s only so many times that you can say, “I woke up, did the feed for Gizmodo, wrote some local stories, cooked dinner and went to bed”, and even fewer times that it’s actually interesting. So, this will probably become more like a real diary, where I chronicle the exciting events in my life. Continue reading →

  • A mixed bag of a weekend, really

As far as weekends go, there wasn’t too much to get excited about this one just gone. Lauren and I did a spot of shopping on Saturday before heading in to watch the Waratahs demolish the Blues (thanks Sarah!). It was a good match, although I was blown away by the fact that Greg Growden (the Sydney Morning Herald’s Chief Rugby journo) kept coming to sit down behind the posts. Continue reading →

  • I'm so tired...

Thank God it’s Friday! I’m exhausted. It’s been a hard week all around, trying to get back into the swing of things after Fiji time. There have bee a couple of late nights this week (Canon event, Lauren had a work event last night), and the early mornings for Giz have taken their toll. I’ll be sleeping in tomorrow! We’re heading out on Sunday to the Red Bull Flugtag… not sure what to expect there, but it might be a bit of fun and I could get some good photos from it. Continue reading →

  • My favourite Wedding photos

I’ve been going through the wedding photos, and trying to narrow down my favourite shots. I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just too hard. So instead of actually choosing a few of my favourites, I’ve selected a few random pics for the blog. I’m also planning on uploading most of the photos to the Picasa page, but I want to confirm which ones Lauren' wants to publish as well… Continue reading →

  • What a fun day!

I saw the new work office today – it’s got three balconies and an awesome view of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. If they don’t have a New Year’s Party there this year I’ll have to eat Simba. Speaking of the dog, I do have a few concerns about the little bugger. He’s been a bit off since we got home from Fiji. Not that that’s too much to worry about – we did leave him for roughly two weeks, after all. Continue reading →

  • The death of Fiji Time...

I’ve been back at work for two days now, and am longing for Fiji Time. It’s hard to believe that only 5 days ago, I was lazing away in a hammock, enjoying the pristine (but humid) Fijian tropical weather. I miss it. I miss everything about Fiji. Although I probably miss the fact that I could relax most of all. Lauren and I received the wedding photos yesterday, and they’re totally awesome. Continue reading →

  • Flying High - tomorrow at least!

So we leave tomorrow. It’s a funny feeling really. We’ve been counting down the number of days until we go on this trip for at least 12 weeks. It’s been our mantra to get us through each day – 10 weeks, two days… nine weeks 5 days. To think that we’re hopping on that plane tomorrow is kind of unrealistic. I’m 98 percent packed – just need to throw in my razor tomorrow morning. Continue reading →

  • Three days to go

Hi all. I’ve always been intrigued by blogging, and thought that our world holiday would be a great reason to start one up. This will give us a chance to share our wonderful experiences with all of you, as well as some photos and videos, and give you guys a chance to comment on it, like telling us all how jealous you are. It may work or it may fail miserably, but I’m gonna give it a go anyhow. Continue reading →
