This time of year really knows how to drain my bank balance.

Started building Leia’s Boushh Lego helmet. Forgot to take a pic after bag 1, but I’m loving how the details and shape are coming together after bag 2.

The Star Wars Lego Princess Leia Boushh helmet partially constructed, being held up in front of the box showing the completed product.

Somebody in Canada has come to BTTR, viewed 24 pages and clicked on 88 different affiliate links in one session. Because they are Canadian, they aren’t going to convert. They have, however, stuffed up my performance metrics for the week.

Just watched two (2!) absolute bell-ends do 3 point turns over double white lines in a school zone.

A little old nanna walking past me couldn’t contain her shock. That’s how ridiculous it was.

Not that long ago, my son would talk about how much money he would make in a year if he mowed our lawn every weekend.

Today, I gave up nagging him and tackled the grass jungle myself. He didn’t even look up.

    Teenagers.

I’ve spent 10 minutes trying to sign into Boost mobile. I tried the app and the website. I’ve reset passwords. I still can’t get in.

How can a communications company have such a broken accounts system?

So I have to pay $10 for an Uber driver’s time despite waiting 15 minutes for him to go to the wrong pickup location twice. Surely Uber should be compensating me for wasting my time?

Up at 4am to fly to Melbourne for the day job’s Christmas party. If I’m still awake by the time it starts, of course.

I have so much work to do, but feel completely shattered today. Productivity is a struggle.

Well, I rejoined Facebook again so I could try to support BTTR. But I can’t bring myself to send friend requests. It’s just not a platform I want to invest personal time or effort in.

So, it turns out I was spamming the micro.blog feed with BTTR’s Black Friday deal links. Apologies! I was playing around with automation and it wasn’t quite working the way I wanted it to.

  • Our quick long weekend

We took a long weekend last weekend to Turon Gates, and it was spectacular. We stayed in a nice little cabin by there Turon river, watched the kangaroos, echidnas and wild goats, went bushwalking and horse riding, and cooked dinner on the fire. It was such a great opportunity to just stop and unwind for a bit. Need to do it more often. Continue reading →

  • Words cannot express my disdain for Facebook.

I deleted my Facebook account back in 2019 or so, and have not regretted the decision at all. The feed was always full of crap I didn’t care about, I never posted and any connection with my “friends” wasn’t actually meaningful. But, in order to try to push BTTR along, I set up a new account last week and created a page for BTTR. Because I had no interest in using Facebook for personal reasons, I did the bare minimum to fill it. Continue reading →

It’s so sad that this country is hobbled by its racism and inability to proactively build an inclusive space for our First Nations countrymen and women. It was an easy choice, and the country chose wrong.

Had to get a deep clean at the dentist this morning, including local anaesthetic and everything.

It was fine, but I’m really feeling out of it now. Can’t concentrate to write, yet can’t bring myself to log off.

Went to set up a bunch of home security cameras for review and one of them requires professional installation. Not sure I’ll be getting that one done any time soon, unfortunately.

  • Hogwarts Battle tonight with box 3 from the Monster Box of Monsters expansion

Started off strong. Thought we had it all under control, and then the last encounter appeared. We needed to play 6 spells to be able to remove it. But that was hard. We hadn’t had a lot of spells appear on the board. And once Voldemort appeared, it became nearly impossible to impossible. In the end, we removed the encounter, but it was too little too late. The third location was on verge of falling, which it did on the very next round. Continue reading →
